History of the Chicago White Sox, 1959-2017

Chicago White Sox 1959-2017 First time since the 1919 World Series scandal the Sox returned to the Fall Classic. Led by four future Hall of Famers (manager Al Lopez, P Early Wynn, SS Luis Aparicio, and 2B Nellie Fox), this Go Go squad displayed speed, fielding, and solid pitching. The Sox came close in 1964 and again in 1967, but the team’s fortunes went sour so quickly the owners considered moving the club to Milwaukee. Who would have thought a 1971 trade with the LA Dodgers for a slugging 1B would turn things around – forever.
